When an engine shows power related problems or an engine needs to be checked whether it is in healthy condition a relative compression test can be performed to reveal if the mechanical part of an engine is in good condition. This article explains the relative compression test and describes the necessary steps to setup a lab scope like the Automotive Test Scope ATS5004D and the Current clamp TP-CC600 to perform a relative compression test.
